Tools
MapPort (44 kB) MapPort, MS Windows EXE file

This small tool allows you to port terrain and move cost info from one TacOps map file to another by preserving its UTM grids.

Usage is:
MapPort
<target MAP file> <source MAP file>
<left easting> <top northing>
<right easting> <bottom northing>

IMPORTANT: You have to provide the grids in question WITH one decimal added, so each of them ranges between 000 and 999, thus being able to adress arbitrary parts of the map.

IMPORTANT: This tool is provided as is, and although it makes use of TacOps v4 files, it is neither developped nor supported by Major Holdridge, the author of TacOps v4. This tool is in its very first version, so PLEASE use it very carefully and only on files you have made a backup of before ;-)

This small tool allows you to port an exported OOB from one TacOps map file to another by preserving its UTM grids.

Usage is:
OOBPort
<target OOB file> <source OOB file>
<target MAP file> <source MAP file>

Maps
Bad Bevensen

(849 kB) Map150c, ZIP file

This map was created for Henk Stoffers and covers a small part of Lower Saxony in Germany. It contains the town of BAD BEVENSEN and a part of the MITTELLANDKANAL and was - according to Henk - to be defended by a Dutch infantry battalion in Cold War times.

The map is 11 km wide and 5 km high, and you can click the thumbnail on the left to get a 50% size preview. The ZIP file comes together with a legend and a .names file.

IMPORTANT: The map does not contain any major bridges over the MITTELLANDKANAL or the small streams draining the farmland behind. Most of them are obstacles for all kinds of vehicles, so they consequently are left out from the map and have to be replaced by TacOps bridges during the game. Thus, as a starter for a scenario taking place on this map, a .tac file containing all important bridges is provided, too. MLCs for the bridges, however, may vary from reality and are modelled according to a fair guess.

Fränkische Saale

(1080 kB) Map121c, ZIP file

This map was created for a CPX named "Fraenkische Saale" and covers a small part of the area west of BAD KISSINGEN in Germany. It contains the river FRAENKISCHE SAALE flowing from East to West through the map.

The terrain is very difficult to negotiate, this being modelled by the fact that there are very few spots coded as "Clear" in the map at all. Most parts of the map can be crossed effectively only on roads and paths. Consequently, in the open which is Rough1 or Rough2, paths are coded Clear, and in the wooded areas which are coded Rough3 or even Rough4, paths are Rough1. Elevation is coded only to model some few spots with exceptionally good view.

The map is 10 km wide and 20 km high, and you can click the thumbnail on the left to get a 50% size preview. The ZIP file comes together with a legend and a .names file.

IMPORTANT: The map does not contain any major bridges.
